Protecting Reproductive Freedom
Michelle Chambers is a champion for reproductive justice. In the Senate, Michelle will fight to protect abortion rights and expand access to quality, affordable reproductive healthcare. She will also pass laws to shield patients who come to California seeking abortion care from prosecution in other states where it has been banned. That's why Michelle Chambers is the only candidate for Senate District 35 endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County Action Fund.
Tackling Homelessness &
Building Affordable Housing
Michelle Chambers understands that L.A. County's homelessness and affordablehousing crises demands urgent, effective solutions. In the Senate, she is committed to tackling this issue head-on by increasing funding for affordable housing and supporting innovative programs to assist those experiencing homelessness — such as California's new Care Courts, which help get unhoused people with severe mental health issues off our streets and into the treatment they need. She will work tirelessly to streamline the process for building new housing units and push for policies that prevent displacement. Her goal is to make Senate District 35 a model of how we can effectively address homelessness and housing affordability.
Fighting for Working Families
Michelle Chambers is a steadfast advocate for working families. In the Senate, she will champion policies that create good-paying union jobs, increase the minimum wage, and ensure fair labor practices. Michelle is committed to fighting for paid family leave, affordable childcare, and equal pay for equal work. She understands that strong families are the backbone of a thriving community and will work to create an economic environment where every working family in L.A. County can prosper. That's why Michelle is the only candidate endorsed by the California Labor Federation and the L.A. County Federation of Labor, as well as labor unions representing nurses and frontline healthcare workers, classroom teachers, construction workers and grocery store workers.
Keeping Our Neighborhoods Safe
Michelle Chambers is dedicated to keeping our neighborhoods safe. Michelle will fight to invest in emergency services so we can hire more firefighters and paramedics to improve emergency response times and save lives. She is also a champion for common-sense gun safety laws to end gun violence in our communities — including red flag laws to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and domestic abusers. Michelle believes in a balanced approach to public safety, combining effective community policing with critical criminal justice reforms — including investments in mental health services, education, and community programs that address the root causes of crime.
